UPDATE 8.50am: PASSENGERS on the Frankston rail line have been hit by delays for the second time this week after a tram broke down at at Glen Huntly crossing
It is the second time a tram shut down across the tracks at a Glen Huntly crossing this week, but the scene was cleared quicker than earlier this week.
The problem is causing 10-minute delays for Frankston line travellers in both directions.
Those delays come after a car crashed and wedged under a tram on Sydney Rd, Coburg, trapping a young man for at least an hour with serious injuries.
The crash before 6am this morning blocked traffic and trams in both directions near Bakers Rd for some time, but the scene was cleared before peak hour by MFB crews.
A Victoria Ambulance spokesperson said an 18-year-old man was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with suspected broken leg and wrist, suspected head injuries.
